Beautiful Ruby is one of the children attending the New Rho refuge school. He is a member of Hot Sauce's gang along with Honesty, Born in the Morning, Kevin, and Nona.

Not much is know about Beautiful Ruby's early life. He was most likely born on a planet under contract with the Nine Houses and then subsequently resettled to New Rho with his family.

According to Nona, Beautiful Ruby is the "best looking out of all of them."[1] Nona mentions him having braids tied with different colored rubber bands. Based on the ages of the other children in Hot Sauce's gang he is likely somewhere between 10 and 12 years old.
Personality[]
Beautiful Ruby is loud and somewhat brash. He is described as being able to "create enough noise for ten children at least"[2] He's prone to teasing other members of the gang, especially Nona.
Relationships[]
Born in the Morning[]
"Beautiful Ruby went off with Born in the Morning specially, one of his arms slung familiarly around Born’s neck, both of them talking quietly."[3]
Beautiful Ruby has an especially close relationship with Born in the Morning. Despite often being at each other's throats, they spend a lot of time together and seem to be close friends.
The Gang[]
Beautiful Ruby ranks below Honesty but above Nona, Born in the Morning, and Kevin within the gang hierarchy.
Family[]
Beautiful Ruby has a mother named Sweetie who has recently given birth to a baby during the events of Nona the Ninth. He likely has other family members at home who are not named.
